DMCA / Copyright
We remove infringing links promptly on a valid notice. Send notices via the Contact page.
What we host (and what we don't)
WeAnime is a catalog and watch shell. We store metadata — titles, synopses, episode numbers, artwork links — and embed references that point at third-party players. We do not host, upload, or store any video files.
The actual video lives on third-party embed hosts we do not own or control. Removing a link here does not remove the file from the internet — takedowns for the underlying file should also be sent to the hosting provider shown in the player.
Sending a takedown notice
Send notices via the Contact page. To be actionable, a notice should include:
the copyrighted work you believe is infringed; the exact WeAnime URL(s) where it appears (e.g. the title or watch page); your name, organization, and contact details; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized; a statement that the information is accurate and you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them; and a signature (a typed name is fine).
If something is missing, we'll ask for it — the response clock starts when the notice is complete. We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and act within 7 calendar days; clearly valid notices are usually actioned the same day.
What we do on a valid notice
We map each reported URL to its catalog rows and remove the embed references, so the title no longer resolves to a player on WeAnime. Where the metadata itself is the complaint — or a title draws repeat notices — we delist it entirely and prevent it from being re-imported by our catalog sync.
Counter-notices
If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice identifying the removed material, stating your good-faith belief in writing, providing contact information, and consenting to jurisdiction. We forward it to the original complainant; if they do not report filing a court action within 10–14 business days, restoration is at our discretion.
Repeat infringers
Users cannot upload content here — accounts only store progress, lists, and preferences, so there is no user-published media to moderate. Accounts implicated in abuse of the service (for example, automated harvesting of embed references) are terminated on a second verified incident, and content that draws repeat valid notices is permanently delisted.
